Pets are an important part of our lives, we are responsible for their care & safety. I love our dog so much, he is super cute, and although he sometimes gets on my nerves, he is part of our family. In an emergency, at this point, I am not sure what I would do! Obviously my kids come first, but he is definitely part of our family. So I looked up some websites that have great information on pet preparedness, & I got the FREE pet prep pack from the ASPCA. In Las Vegas, the most obvious danger is heat. NEVER EVER EVER, leave your pets in a hot car, (duh)! But also, think about a hot house, or outside too long. If you need to evacuate your home for any reason, have a plan in place for the doggies & kitties. If the only thing you do at this point is think about what you would do, hey, that is the first step! I think next time I grocery shop, I may get a few things. Muzzle, dog dish, and some extra food to put in vaccuum bags for a "grab-and-go" kit. Do you already have something in place for your pet(s)?
